Achievement vs. Success

When refering to this card in a same context where Failure is also being referred, people sometimes say 'Success' instead of 'Achievement'. In such context it seems that 'Success' would feel more natural because it is the common opposite of 'Failure'. Yet:

  • The term 'success' points towards a more definitive perception of achievement, as when a game level is finished. It is not so interesting to refer to each small positive reinforcement such as picking coins in Super Mario or rings in Sonic.
  • There is no reason for the patterns Achievement and Failure to be seen as opposite, although they may act close to that in many games.

So, we still believe 'Achievement' is a better name. Nevertheless, for the sake of usability, here in the site we are including a page called Success that redirects to Achievement.
